The Forest of Móra Ferenc – The green Móra (Móra Ferenc Museum)
Permanent exhibition about the writer Ferenc Móra, former director of our museum
Ferenc Móra, our namesake, writer, poet, journalist, archaeologist and librarian, worked at our museum for thirty years and was its director from 1917 until his death.
Móra, who was a committed conservationist, already recognized the importance of environmental protection a hundred years ago, and this message and aspect of his life's work is even more important and very relevant today. Accordingly, it presents Ferenc Móra's life journey and her rich and varied work through his intimate relationship with nature.
In the magical forest of Móra, in the MÓRA RENSETEG (MÓRA AN ABUNDANCE OF), we can learn about the life of a writer who graduated from the university with a degree in geography and natural history. With the help of quotes, objects, pictures, letters, movie clips and interactive games hidden in tree trunks, we can discover the nature-loving man's inspiring thoughts, overwhelming passions, poetry, playfulness, humor, his not written novels. We can write love poems with it, decorate photo with his favorite flowers, and find out what kind of plant or animal you would have liked to be if you weren't born human. We can meet his family members, his loves, the defining characters of his life, grass, trees, animals and people.
We hope that the exhibition is intended for both lovers of literature and those who do not understand our language, for Móra fans, and for all those who thereby get closer to her works, thoughts, and personality.
