The Kass Gallery opened in 1985 in Vár Street in Szeged. The gallery presents the work of János Kass, born in Szeged, winner of the Kossuth Prize, two-time Munkácsy Prize winner, Merited Artist and Outstanding Artist.

In the Kass Gallery, significant series of works by János Kass have already been presented, such as The Bluebeard Prince's Castle, The Tragedy of Man, The Bible, Hamlet, or selected works from the Heads series. In addition to the above works, his individual graphics were also included in the exhibition space.

In 1991, after the extension of the Gallery's floor area, it was possible to present temporary exhibitions as well - temporary exhibitions of the works of contemporary visual artists can be seen continuously in the Kass Gallery.
