We know some of the causes of the late Pleistocene extinction, but there is much debate among researchers about what the main cause was. Two major camps are represented in this debate: one says humanity is to blame, the other global climate change. It seems most likely that these two factors have indeed had the greatest impact, but that other causes have also contributed to the great extinction.
